The scousers want to be careful making those comparisons.

Eric was banned for an unprecedented 8 months for that

They should have given him the VC, the legion d'honneur and the congressional medal of honour.

Proud moment.

Loved how most of the team were right in there ready to row with Simmons themselves rather than namby pamby 'calming Eric down'. Hard as nails that team

He kicked a racist yob - £#%&!ing beautiful.

A man of principle.....versus a 'man' who pulls players hair, bites players, tries to chop players in two than pretends he's hurt, calls players for being black and has still never apologised for it.

Our heroes > their heroes, always

.....and lets not forget that united themselves gave eric a lengthy ban even before the two faced @#%&!s at the FA waded in

The misconceptions about that are staggering. There are people who don't know we actually banned Eric for the rest of the 1994/5 season, and that the FA added another few months onto the ban.

Personally I thought a ban was a disgrace.

if they want the comparisons

Eric kicked a racist yob
We suspended him
The FA extended it to 8 months
Cantona was arrested and convicted for assault, resulting in a two-week prison sentence.

They defended a racist yob who got away with an 8 match ban

tbf it's a bit daft picking out the kung-fu thing as the comparison...

the comparison should be that Cantona was a hard @#%&! who got genuinely angry and snapped a few times whereas Suarez is just a snide horrible snivelling little @#%&!; Suarez will pull your hair, rake your achilles, dive around, squeal like a victim and generally try and cheat you and your team, whereas Cantona would just attack you in full view of everybody.

it's a travesty to compare the two players on any level
