Manchester United fans tell Sir Alex Ferguson to sell Wayne Rooney

MANCHESTER UNITED fans have vented their fury on Wayne Rooney in a vicious four-letter tirade - and have called on Sir Alex Ferguson to sell the England striker.

Wayne Rooney has been the subject of abuse from fans

Rooney, who has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, angered boss Ferguson by putting in another abject display against West Ham. He was hauled off with 20 minutes to go.

A leading commentator in France declared Rooney's transfer was a "done deal" earlier this week - but Ferguson rubbished the suggestion and blasted: "There is anything in that at all."

But Old Trafford fans have lost patience with the once-untouchable Rooney.

Disgruntled supporters have posted foul-mouthed messages on fans' forums, including utdforum.com, which have attracted thousands of views and hundreds of posts.

One fan order Ferguson to "sell the scouse ****", another claims Rooney has played like "an utter **** during this particular run-in" and one kinder member believes he has "peaked physically", that he is "technically not good enough" and that he "doesn't look interested".

As far as taking him off the other night it was simple - he wasn't playing as well as Shinji Kagawa was

Sir Alex Ferguson
The over-riding view is that it's time for Rooney, who was bought for £20m from Everton in 2004, to go.

Despite the calls from angry fans, Ferguson insists there are no issues with the 27-year-old - even if there is no update on the likelihood of summer contract talks.

"I couldn't tell you about that [contract talks]," he said.

"As far as taking him off the other night it was simple - he wasn't playing as well as Shinji Kagawa was.

"In so many games Wayne Rooney is better than most players. But on the night Shinji was playing so well."

Wayne Rooney is on a reported £220,000-a-week contract at Manchester United
Rooney, a natural striker, played in centre-midfield against West Ham and had just ONE touch in the opposition box.

The England striker’s contract runs out in 2015 and United chiefs will be anxious to cash in on Rooney while they can to avoid him leaving on a free in two years' time

Like how it goes straight to Freg for a response.

Matter of time before we have regular face2face with him, Lazio style.

I wonder if the Express will run a 'Vintage Sleaze' special?

I could do with the publicity.

Eh, Jack, eh? I'll see you right mate...
