No, genuinely, what is wrong with their own, purpose built, stadium that contains their history, memories and their entire fanbase all in one go?

It's not exactly prime real eastate by London standards. I suppose Tesco or some such will pay up for it but relative to football finance it's not going to net them a lot. And as posted above it's a terrible move for West Ham as a club and it means Orient will cease to exist and probably have to go out into Essex to find a fan base. So that's two clubs £#%&!ed up by it.
I'm not too concerned about the clubs as such but it's another bell tolling for the game as a whole.

And where is the legacy for the publicly funded olympic park? Partially ripped up and the rest put into private hands within a few years

Piss take all round. As usual.

how? are all the orient fans suddenly going to start supporting west ham?

they're only moving about 2 miles ffs. it's not like the two clubs are from 2 different cities. As it is they're about 3 miles apart now. 10-15 mins in a car.

No, they probably won't switch allegiance but the Olympic park is right in their catchment area, as opposed to where Upton park is now, and the fear is it's unlikely they will gain much new support as the years go on.

because w ham will be able to undercut orient by offering cheap tickets to watch premier league/championship football as there's no way they will fill it every week.

sparky once again showing favour with his 4th team (2nd being QPR, 3rd being Spurs, then make your way round London on the underground - 5th, 6th etc etc)

I doubt Orient actually want the stadium, they're merely trying anything they can to stop West ham getting it

isn't it owned by Barry Hearn?

Doesn't exactly shy away from controversial publicity does he.

"catchment area"...."undercut them by offering cheap tickets to watch premier league football"?

wtf are you all on about. Is there a huge untapped resource of potential football fans that haven't chosen a club in E10 then?

This isn't £#%&!ing Malaysia or the far east where they're all just jumping on the 'footie' bandwagon. Most people in that area will probably already follow west ham, spurs or arsenal anyway.

Chelsea and fulham are 1.8 miles apart and fulham did just fine when they were in the old 2nd division and chelsea were lording it up with their new italian superstars.

what a load of old %@#$&!s.
