If it takes 3 weeks, so what, he'll still be ready for the start of the season. He wasn't gonna do much pre-season after the Copa America anyway. Sounds like good news to me.

They may just be calling West Ham and The PL's bluff too.

The threat of Fifa or legal action may force West Ham's hand.

They are playing hard ball now but they must know they are £#%&!ed if Fifa or the courts get involved.

he's the last piece of the summer puzzle so time is on our side too.

Default FIFA to rule on Tevez transfer

www.manutd.com

The future of United target Carlos Tevez lies with FIFA as world football’s governing body will decide a resolution to the ongoing saga surrounding the Argentina striker’s transfer from West Ham.

At a press conference in Seoul, the second leg of United’s tour of the Far East, Reds chief executive David Gill said he is confident that Tevez will “get his wish to join United”.

"There have been a lot of discussion with the Premier League, West Ham and Maurice Watkins over the last few days," Gill told reporters.

"The player and West Ham will take the case to the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber. We're very confident, as is the player, that the situation will be resolved in favour of Tevez. He will then be free to achieve his, and our, wish to join United.”

However, Gill knows patience will be required as a conclusion to the already procrastinated negotiations are not necessarily in sight. But, crucially, Gill believes a resolution can be found through FIFA and that Tevez will be able to join up with the United squad for the new season.

“It may take a short period but based on what we've seen and the discussions we've had over the last few weeks we're very confident this will be resolved and that he will be a major of Sir Alex's squad this season.”

Just a thought about his medical, what is to stop united giving him a medical on the qt, no need to announce the results or do the PL have to sit in?

Nothing at all, but it won't be recognised by anyone else but United until it's sanctioned.

The medical? The only people needed to recognise that are United.

He could have it but whats the point?. Doesn't make sense to have a medical now with him not signing for three weeks. He could fall during the three weeks, hurt his knee, not tell UTD and we wouldn't know.

You are not allowed oto have a medical at another club unless there is agreement from whoever owns him.

I think there is a point, if the point is firing a warning shot to West Ham and the Prem.
