Breaking the goal scoring record for England is no more prestigious than breaking the goal scoring record for the Faroe Islands. Doesn't matter one jot if its lasted 40 or 100 years either. Means £#%&! all at the end of the day, each and every one of the goals has won England the grand total of bugger all.

Doubtless the FA will award him with some tinpot trophy and ceremony though. Maybe a knighthood is on the cards too.

Only 5 of his goals have come in the finals of competitions...

Barcelona, AC Milan, Chelsea, Arsenal.

It's hard to argue with his England record but people will give it a go. But any player who ends his career as all time top goalscorer for England AND United has to be pretty £#%&!ing good. Only a loon would argue otherwise.

just trying to work out how meaningless this record is?Pele scored a million goals against bums but he also did a bit in tournaments too

I´m watching this game and thinking what a load of pointless shit this is.

For those who remember, the home internationals were by far more relevant and exciting than this load of bull.
