He should have played more of them on Wednesday too. To me he's doing it for the wrong reasons. Looking on it as a negative than a positive. Even his post match on MUTV (I'm concentrating on the final). Fair enough, but at least say a £#%&!ing sentence in praise of the youngsters ffs.

Nah, we will win, Pogba looking great while players like Mata or Mikitaryan will have the experience of huge European matches to draw on.

League Cup is only 6 games if you win, could easily be out after 1 with a bad draw. I do like the idea of the Europa as a vehicle for playing the kids, Ajax will make 15 matches to win it. Maybe you only get 8-10 if you go the kids route but the exposure to European football, the travel, different styles of play, can only be a positive experience in preparing players for the future. Hoped it was what we would do this season before the league campaign crashed.

Just an addition. The above is why I have this residual feeling that the Europa has been something of a missed opportunity this season. Very rarely will Utd get the chance to plan a series of games for a group of young players. A decent run in the tournament that establishes a couple as first teamers could be long term more important than the trophy itself. Of course that is reliant on CL qualification being secured in the league Harry Kane forced his way into the Spurs league team through his record in the Europa, did far more for him than a series of nondescript loans.

Fewer. And more.

Otherwise spot on.

Absolutely, that whole idea of names and statement signings has been a problem since Fergie retired, a symptom of panic from above and a lack of understanding of how quality teams develop. Needs more than just money thrown at the problem.

Would love to see Mou's minions. Would be shocked if it happened.

Finished higher with 66 than we did with 69, so I'm not 100% sure tbh.
