I think you're being a little one eyed there. We unsettled Hargreaves, plain and simple. And it's not the first time we've done it.

Fergie has mentioned Hargreaves a couple times and clearly doesn't like to talk about him too much. On the contrary, Real seem like they can't go a day without mentioning him. Our press may have done the same with OH, but we never did.

Also, ofcourse you make your interest known to unsettle a player. That's all part of the dance, but he was interested in still is. It worked at the first inclination and once Hargreaves makes his intentions clear then there'll always be interest.

However, Ronaldo hasn't. It hasn't worked - so go away!

Ronaldo had made his intentions clear before signing his contract and certainly has in doing so.

I admit we're no angels, but I can't remember us ever pursuing something that clearly isn't going to happen with such flagrant persistance....and they do this with everybody.

The only effect the contract has had is to push up Ronaldo's price on the transfer market.
