- De Gea is just a shot-stopper, a freakishly good shot-stopper, but not an all-rounder. He creates a lot of problems by not coming off his line and relying too much on his reflexes. He's £#%&!ed up quite a few times over the past few seasons, but it gets brushed over. He £#%&!ed up against Chelsea at home this season gone and also early in the away fixture at Chelsea last season. He also gifted an equaliser to Stoke at Old Trafford season before last. He's good but mad overrated.

- I started paying attention to his distribution towards the end of the season as JCB and I were working on metrics for the radars and noticed how he tends to give away possession in his half a lot too. Two in Uniteds last few games stood out against Swansea and Man City. One resulted in him needing to make a world class point blank save. The other resulted in a goal against City.

But that save was amazing. Karius didn't make a save like that this season. Then again he doesn't need to as he doesn't routinely give the ball away in his own half. Shot prevention > shot stopping.

So Karius is better than De Gea.

De Gea still has things to improve on imo. That Said, would not swap him for any other keeper. And I've yet to see a keeper who does not make a couple of mistakes minimum over a year. Nature of the job.
