Default Football Manager

Never really bought pc games before as was determined to show kids that pc was not a toy but got my hands on Football Manager 2006 yesterday. I seem to remember a thread on the old forum offering tips on it. Can anyone give me some as I obviously don't want to be crap at my first attempt at gaming.

Cheers in advance

Carefully select some of the decent lower profile names to post on here as ITK potential transfer targets for United.

Failing that, select the smallest data base options and keep the game as simple as it will let you otherwise it'll wind you up before you have begun to suss it out. Take your time on setting up your squad and tactics.

Oh and use the games forum!

Not got the 2006 version so no! Look for good young players in Germany and France is a safe guess though.

I'd start outside the Prem and bring my youth through. One day, if you're good enough, United will come in for you!

Or if you want to cheat!

Just add a new manager of a higher club, with rich finances, (Chelsea) and have them buy one of your weaker players for vast amounts of money.
