is there any way u can start the game on one computer, then save the game and continue on a different computer?

I think you can, although I haven't tried it myself.

You could put the saved game file which you'll find at:

My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\games

Then put that file/game on a memorystick, cd or whatever.
