I think that has been the case for ages tbh.

The best bit is that had they won they automatically go into pot 1 but now they’re in pot 3 which means they could get two strong teams in their group.

Yep. Total shite. Been going down hill since they changed the 99 system, which produced group games with tension and an incentive to attack. Now it’s an absolute borefest, which also negatively impacts the domestic game.

We're in the second pot. Not sure if it'd have made that much difference, the ranking is accumulated rather than year by year. Spurs are in the second pot too, Liverpool in the third.
