I'd be happy with that, but would give Evra a week off and think Owen needs another game after his game/goal midweek, will do him the world of good imo.

United have a host of injury concerns ahead of Saturday's early evening clash with Blackburn Rovers at Old Trafford.

Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Ryan Giggs are all doubts, while Darren Fletcher, Danny Welbeck and Ji-sung Park are still sidelined. Gary Neville is suspended after receiving a straight red card at Barnsley on Tuesday.

"We have some doubts for tomorrow," Sir Alex Ferguson admitted at his pre-match press conference. "Ryan Giggs is a doubt but we hope he’ll be okay. Ferdinand and Vidic are both doubts – we’ll see what they’re like today. Gary Neville is suspended of course. Hopefully we can get one or two fit for tomorrow but we’re facing an uphill fight.

"Vidic has had a calf problem for a few weeks now. We’ve seen a specialist about it so we’ll see what he’s like today. Rio and Vida both want to play after the disappointment of last Sunday (at Anfield)."

Sir Alex also confirmed that Park's knee injury is providing cause for concern, after the midfielder developed some swelling during a recent flight back from Korea. "We think he’ll be out for a couple of weeks yet," said the manager.

There was some positive news surrounding Fletcher, who has been absent since United's draw with Sunderland four weeks ago. "Darren Fletcher started training yesterday," said Sir Alex. "That was his first day back training with the first team. He won’t be fit for tomorrow but hopefully we’ll get him ready for the Chelsea game. He’ll get 10 days’ training before that."

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is unlikely to throw Gabriel Obertan straight into the starting eleven for tomorrow’s Premier League game against Blackburn, however he suggested the young Frenchman may have place on the bench.

Ferguson told the press: “It was Gabriel’s first real game on Tuesday,”

“He’s had a few runouts for the Reserves but I think it’s too early for him to start tomorrow. It depends on injuries – he may get on the bench.”

“He’s settled in well and he definitely has ability – he has marvellous pace, which is always important in football today,”

“He’s overcome his injury, which is the most important thing. He didn’t know about his injury when he signed him and we’ve picked it up. Hopefully we’ve corrected it.”

I'm not sure it is even a good combination. Neither are great users of the ball and it is one Fergie rarely goes for as a 2.

One or the other for me, especially against a side like Blackburn, who will come to defend.

This thread is an exercise in the impossible.
I have absolutely no idea how Fergie goes about picking his side...it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the opponent, it's just a weekly 'midfield rotation game'
Nothing will erase the memory of last Sunday's dismal showing...although I suspect we'll nick a tight game 2-1 (don't think we've won by more than one clear goal at OT this season have we???)

It litterally could be anything, but my side would be:

* injury permitting.

VDS

Evra
Rio (Brown)*
Vidic (Evans)*
Brown (Rafael)*

Valencia
Anderson
Carrick
Giggs

Rooney
Berbatov

Only a win at Chelsea will restore any faith in the side's charector as far as I'm concerned. Why should we be running scared of a trip to Stamford Bridge?...why should we be expecting a draw there AT BEST???
We've turned into such a bunch of tarts away from home against the big sides.

Tosic is starting to look a lot more confident and determined, he may just be settling in to his surroundings now and be ready to push on. I think he may become a useful player for us, he's got a great left foot , is intelligent with the ball and doesn't mind getting stuck in. I'd like to see him get a chance in the 1st team in the next few weeks, from the bench at least.

Could end up being £45 million well spent?

I like that team but I would play Brown instead of Vidic. Obers to come on at half time no matter what the score is and irrespective of the performance of the player he is replacing

Must say he has looked good recently, to me at least, had a good game for the reserves and very nearly scored a cracker against Barnsley. Got a superb left foot on him from out wide too which I'm sure could be an assett to the first team.
