Amazing it was. Shame you missed it.
From memory most people were calling him a showboating @#%&! and said he wouldn't last a season in the Premiership. Hindsight and revisionism come hand in hand.

that's not quite true, although the phrase "no end product" became famous.

Quite a lot of restlessness about Ronnie for much of 2005 ISTR. He took off once and for all the following year.

Not sure what to expect from Rojo when he returns. At this stage of last season he would have been one of the first out the door for many of us, was desperate under LVG. Will be difficult coming back a serious injury but he needs to show that 25 game spell was not an anomaly.

Far better at CB than LB tbf.

I think he's a decent CB tbh. Never been a huge fan at left-back even though he did very well there for Argentina at the World Cup. Felt a bit sorry for him in 15-16 as he was out for a few months and came back during the injury crisis and lack of fitness was exposed a bit.

Worries me that none of our centre-backs are especially bright. Defending is a collective art; who is going to organise?

Is that Lindelof's strength?

Of the rest of them Jones is probably the best in that aspect if he could ever stay fit enough to prove it. Bailly and Rojo can both be very impulsive. Smalling can go from impulsive to timid in the space of a match, he had a good partnership with Blind who appeared to be the brain of the pair, but not sure what his(Blind) role will be this season. Probably needs Mou to fix on 3-5-2 to have the best chance to be a regular starter.

Love a bit of argie snide in the side tbh Much sooner have him in there than either that shitclown Smalling or Jones. Rojo's also getting a new contract so Mou must think he'll recover good enough to be in his plans.

Lindelof will make many mistakes in his bedding in period as do all players , Pallister ,Evra and Vidic were all poor and they turned out alright. give the lad 3 months and he will get used to the new surroundings and be much improved ,all defenders make mistakes during the season , Lindelofs strength is he is confident with the ball at his feet and can pass much better than most of our other defenders and that will breed confidence in the whole unit in time ,he is a good addition to the team.

he was very good under LVG till he did his shoulder. then he came back protecting it and got a string of injuries ...

second half of last season he became first choice alongside bailey, nqat ... still got rashness, still got snide, but he was on top of it and playing like a top centre back.
