Question Was letting Chicharito go a huge mistake?

Absolutely.

End of thread.

Criminal how a team of our stature has relied on the Valencia Vampire Vayne Vooney, Martial Pitt the Elder, Rashford Pitt the Younger and Mary Shelley's Marouane Fellaini upfront.

Reckon we'd have had top 4 sewn up by now if he had stayed.

Yes, although he was missing sitters and £#%&!ing penalties before he left. We'd be a few goals better off though, surely.

Yup.

Not only that, it would have eased the workload of our hugely talented but still bloody young strikers.

Martial and Rashford have immense potential - but would have liked an older head to help them along this season.

No sure, the bundesliga is the easiest top league for strikers. Aubameyang for instance is massively overrated.

Yep. Lewandowski, Muller, Huntelaar, Immobile, Gotze are overblown tripe. Wouldn't last 2 mins anywhere else in the world. None of them would score the winner in a world cup final

Would the supply for chances have been any better, though ?

Meaningless possession but few incisive passes forward would not have served him well..

Still sad to see him go, mind you.

Gotze is a bad example, he can't even get any playing time... Immobile wtf... Stop. Some good players in the bundesliga but it's obvious defenses are just bad. Not a surprise we score 4 goals in 2 games vs Wolfsburg despite our extremely shitty attack. Liverpool scored 4 vs Dortmund... German defenses are just not good, simple fact.

This. Plus I reckon he was probably eager to move away, after being loaned out the previous season. Maybe he was having a negative impact on morale? Plus - maybe Rashers wouldn't have had the chance to break into the first time if the pea was still in the pod.

My thoughts exactly. He'd have been useless, and offside four hundred thousand times a match. And I loved the little fella.

In hindsight, it is easy to say it was. But the fact remains that his last few appearances for us were £#%&!ing appalling.

hmm.

i liked the pea, but our tactics with him in the side mainly consisted of sitting deep, looking to draw out the opposition defence and slip him in behind. i'm not sure he is the solution when the attack is too passive, because his game almost ends up exacerbating it.

was a great option off the bench when the game was stretched and we were looking to create chaos in the area, but we don't even do that any more.
