Jamie Carragher will continue as a pundit for Sky Sports next season while on a final warning following talks with network bosses during which his TV career was on the line.

A Sky spokesman said: ‘We’ve spoken to Jamie and reminded him of the standards we expect at Sky Sports. He has shown remorse, is hugely apologetic for the offence he caused and has taken the appropriate steps to make sure that the incident will not be repeated.’

Not surprised

Had it been a United player there would be street demonstrations all over loonypool tomorrow.
They would also have been calling for him to be slopping out for 15 years on child abuse charges.

A final warning?

So it seems there’s a line in the sand as to how many times you can spit at a child before your employer decides enough is enough.

Once is okay, but twice is just beyond the pail.

To be fair on that score, I think Keys and Gray we’re reaping what they’d sown for the best part of 20 years. Made too many enemies by all accounts.

He'll never be taken seriously again. He won't be able to criticise without having that incident thrown back in his face.

"Jose, some of the critics have called your team's performance a disgrace"
"At least my players don't spit on kids"

But it also means less Jamie Redknapp.

Win-win.
