Yeah, I think the Milan fans went back to whistling him in the second half

Serie A is a bad way these days, saw tweets prior to the match stating both Milan sides current wage bill is at least half of what it was at their peak (around €115-120m a year (or to put it another way, 50% of ours...).

Tells the story really.

It's like the league has regressed 20 years, almost early PL sort of vibe to it with ageing stars going there rather than peak superstars.

Sad really, growing up in the '90s with Jimbo I was in awe of the talent in every game over there.

Aside from that goal, the Milan derby was a sorry state. Poor quality, must have been half a dozen sitters missed in the game.

Depressing when you think of the players who would play in the Milan derby 10-15 years ago. Ronaldo, Vieri, Zanetti, Recoba, Simeone, Baggio, Jugovic, Seedorf, Pirlo, Rui Costa, Maldini, Albertini, Weah, Boban, Shevchenko. Could go on

Now it's semi-retired Essien and Torres against an Inter team whose captain couldn't even make Italy's World Cup squad. Shocking :shakehead:

The Milan derby these days is the equivalent of two bald men fighting over a comb

Indeed, & Vidic couldn't make the Inter starting IX, which I think accurately displays his physical state these days sadly.

Milan held the CL, Super Cup & World Club cup just 7 years ago, it's amazing how such great clubs can slip.

United really need to be on the ball with the details, getting a cohesive side & playing in the latter stages of the CL are absolutely essential for us, another year out of the limelight & things start to get a touch precarious, regardless of our current cash flow etc, it's not hard to see what could happen.

Inter were similarly successful just 3-4 years ago

No surprise Moratti finally got the £#%&! out after winning the Treble with the landscape over there as it is. He sank enough into that club to last his family until the end of time.

Tbh this is Inter reverting back to normal. Makes me laugh that their fans are heralding the return of Mancini because he's associated with their successful period when there was no competition.

They were always run awfully under Moratti. Apparently even when they became European and World champions their commercial revenue barely increased because they had no handle on that side of things. But at least he poured shitloads of money in so they underachieved with world class players. Now they don't even have that.

For those who didn't see it, Torino's brilliant little cross-eyed Brazilian right-back Bruno Peres mugging Pogba, Evra, Vidal and Storari in the Turin derby at Juventus Stadium last night

Then Pirlo rendering that goal kinda meaningless with the last kick of the game

Dull league, Serie A.

pogba was a disgrace in that play tbh. He could have easily matched that right back for pace instead just gave up.

Vidal quickly realizing he can't match that guy for pace is funny

Saw some of the Roma-Inter game last night. What's the story with Roma's lack of a shirt sponsor? Is it an indication of the financial state of things? Or are they 'mes que un club'?
