Read this in the telegraph. Ouch.

We should not be entirely surprised. Liverpool have simply done what they do after every good season. They spend so much time patting themselves on the back and dishing out contracts on the back of finishing second, they overlook the bit where Barcelona or Real Madrid take their best player and their domestic rivals sprint ahead of them.

They then revert to defensive mode, questioning the judgement of the critics until the acceptance a couple years later (probably in an autobiography or cathartic interview of some sort) that – yes – another opportunity was indeed missed.

Bob on tbf.

The fact that EIGHT books have been released about last season proves this beyong doubt.

Has Rogers had the balls to come out and say they're in transition yet?

I listened to the 5 live phone in purely for some seething yesterday. Some staggering idiots on the line

Rodgers has aged 5 years in the past 10 weeks. He looked drained on his post match interviews yesterday. He hasn´t felt the full fury of the fans yet - it´s not far off coming.

Won´t be as bad as Pardew´s battering but it will still be enough to see the self indulgent wannabe reduced to a pulp.

Just hope OT is ready to finish him off as he takes the long walk from the dug out to the tunnel after the game.

Rodgers isn't in Pardiola's class tbh.

Which is now a better record than Brendan´s last 5.

Resting players against Real Madrid will prove to be his undoing. That's the seed which will now grow. The Liverpool fans build their myths on European nights like that, and the players won't appreciate being rested for such a game. Made the fans face the unthinkable that they all desperately spend their lives avoiding - that they're not special, nor a European great on a par with Madrid and barca. Lost the players and the fans in one game. Huge £#%&!up.

If I live to be a thousand I will never understand why he made that decision.

I can´t think of any other manager, past or present, who would have gone with that.

Shankly must have turned in his grave that night.

Have to say I had totally written Pardew off - his comeback has been pretty astonishing, fair play to the complete @#%&!.

Yes but have you forgotten about brenton's "relentlesh quesht" to win trophies.

Came in talked the talk, trotted out an endless line of pre-meditated soundbytes for the cameras that he probably spent hours practising in the mirror the night before, the £#%&!ing narcissist. "i educate players, you train dogs" and all that load of old twaddle. The scousers, easily pleased maudlin dicks that they are, couldn't believe they had another manager who seemed to talk in the same language of bullshit as the flags they put on the kop.

They utterly deserve everything that they're getting for trying to make a shankly out of this £#%&!ing tubby little fraud.

The free pass they got from the British media for that was unforgivable. No other club would have had been kid-gloved like that, nqat.
