But Andersred (and his lads) will have a very different response depending on which it is. In the meantime I dont see him saying too much. Rightly or wrongly his credibility was damaged quite a bit by the repayment of the PIKs. Until then all his pessimistic predictions were based on 'em not being able to that. For the record, I'm a big admirer of Andersreds campaign/Blog.

I'd agree to a certain extent, it's taken the wind out of everyones sails a bit because no one knows exactly what is going on right now. It was hard enough to get through to some £#%&!wit even when it was in black and white, now there is a £#%&! off gray area it's almost impossible. It'll come out though and if they've done what I think they've done then Andys (and many others) original points will be more valid than ever.

For now though it's a very clever move by those £#%&!ing snakes.

We'll see I suppose...

Indeed. But he has already shown the club (or Red Football) issued only 2 new shares (from a total of circa 197,000) to allow for the PIK debt repayment. Meaning 220M would have bought you a 0.000002% share in the club. Who would pay 220M for that?

Safe to say they havent sold a share of the club (and certainly not anything like the 10-15% that was being rumoured).

Do it really surprise you? It the whole Glazer MO - debt, debt and more debt. It'll be nothing more than new loans at better rates.

Although we can safely assume we're ultimately responsible for that debt it'll be interesting to find out who is now officially responsible for it though won't it. I hope Mr Gill hasn't been lying to us...

payment of the piks was done with money from outside the club. it's clearly not the glazers' money and i doubt it's new loans as if credit lines were available then they would not have taken the piks on in the first place - they were hardly first option as cheap credit at the time of the takeover, it was simply the only way the glazers could raise the cash. and, of course, if alternative credit were available then the glazers would surely have paid the piks up earlier instead of allowing the interest to roll up - and with each roll up credit would be harder to come by as their (the glazers') overall indebtedness increased.

the logical source for the money is an outside investor who has been given something for his investment, presumably an option to buy at a set date for a set price (it's hard to imagine what else would be sufficiently enticing). this would suit all parties: the glazers pay off the piks and get a few more years of sucking money out of the club, plus a nice profit; the buyer gets the club for a set amount at a convenient date (a little before the world cup, for example).

as this is hypothetical anyway, how about the players union got their heads together and agreed on a percentage of PL players wages be used to bring down ticket prices. redistribution written into every player's contract.

you might as well argue with throb about what's beyond the edge of the universe.

(of course, what's beyond his universe is pretty much the universe, but still....)

pointless if aimed at you, since common sense is part of the universe outside your universe. I suppose you can't help squinting at things from your own limited perspective, though.

The situation is fine, we're spending pretty much the same as we did as a PLC. Albeit turnover under the Glazers is slightly up (70%).
