Decent player, occasionally excellent, sometimes abysmal, needed a move for at least 2 years.

Never really been tough enough mentally or physically to deal with the pressure of leading the Utd backline, Wenger and Arsenal is not exactly the environment to fix that problem.

Wenger can certainly spot a quality centre back when he sees one

I just wouldn't let Evans go, he isn't a first team starter, but he's a really good CB sub to come in when someone's injured, or off the subs bench.

Wenger seems to have a mental block when it comes to defenders, if he'd brought in real quality over the years, I think they would have won the league, in the last ten years and also the CL.

He's the least capable defender we have based on last season. Weird one as until last year he had consistently looked like our best ball playing centre half after Rio but when he has been asked to step up an incorporate his possession play in to our default tactics he came up woefully short and looked as bad as he ever has.

He isn't going to get any better, it's time for him to move on.
