Nah, not having that Rashford being stood there makes any difference to Ederson. Bruno scores regardless. If anything, Rashers confuses it a bit for Bruno

Oh it’s awful from them. And they do this. They are very naive and really careless at times. From their side, they were terrible after taking the lead. Two terrible goals to concede in such a big game that they had to win.

I think Bruno does score anyway, yes, but Ederson is set for Rashford. It’s a “common sense” offside, but the law as it is, they have to give that goal. It’s the kind of goal that stands in 2022.

And, ya know… £#%&! ‘em!

Agreed. They’re just the kind of goal that gets given these days.

My mind drifts to the Emirates last season (?) when Xhaka scores from 20 yards to make it 3-1 against the run of play, with Nketiah stood 5 yards in front of De Gea, 3 yards offside, where VAR determined that it was actually Lindelof on the edge of the 18 yard box that blocked DdG. Poor City, but we're due a few, nqat.

The real stupid thing is, it’s with the letter of the law. If the same thing happened to any other club this week or any other week of this premier league season the same law would be applied and the same result would be given.

Whether or not the law should stand is one thing. But if it happened at the other end 2 mins later it would also have stood. Everyone was playing on a level playing field because the laws of the game were upheld .

We didn’t have any added advantage. The situation just arose for us. Would be nice if someone in the media just had a balanced view for once

Probably haven’t seen an Irish fella that explosive in Brighton since the Tory party conference there in 1984.

A proper centre forward in the making. Would take him, Caiceido and Mac Allister in a hearbeat.

Would take Mitoma but, you know, we have all the left wingers

Exactly.

I don’t like the law and I think it’s a daft goal to allow to happen, but it just gets given these days. It’s correct by the letter and every team would get it.

Love that Welbeck goal 😎

Amazing how quickly things can change, innit?

Look at the state of Liverpool here. They’re a shambles. We lost 9-0 to turn on aggregate last season and were getting thumped by them as recently as April. We never looked further away from them than after that Anfield game under Ralf.

Now, I’ll be disappointed if we don’t finish above them.

Tbh, I think it’s a nonesense law and there’s no way the country’s most
In form forward isn’t interfering with the play when he’s clean through on goal, but by the law, they have to give it.
Completely agree.

As usual the discourse is about how ref bias towards United, without brainboxes like Micah Richards being able to point to what part of the law makes it offside.

Whether the law makes sense is a separate discussion.

All been flogged to death whether or not… it’s United but maybe somebody should mention that Wolves should have been 1-3 winners last week, but Liverpool enjoyed not one, but two glaringly obvious decisions in their favour and escaped with a 2-2 draw. City, routinely get away with murder in all areas of the pitch.

Where’s Gary Neville when you want to hear him gobbling off?
