It isn't that clear cut. Januzaj is an exceptional 'talent' too. There again, so was Anderson at 18. No guarantee they will continue to bloom and be the finished article at 24.

Beckham only started to properly show at 21, Ben Thornley used to regularly overshadow him at 18-20.

Players develop at different rates.
not old enough to remember thornley but he was meant to be brilliant wasn't he, before injuries?

Rooney was probably better between 18 and 22 then started going backwards :shakehead:

He's not gone backwards, he's just not gone forwards either. He's still a worthy player in a better team, but without the genius of Ronaldo/Tevez/van Persie/Scholes/Giggs etc he just won't be as impressive. It's typical of the British public to hold him in the same esteem as some of the greatest players in the world, he's far from it.

No, he was alright but always looked like a bloke who was two missed training sessions away from being a fatty.

Lingard still has a long way to go IMO.

He's a good finisher, and has a decent strike on him, but as a wide player he's a bit one-dimensional when he takes a player on.

He has a lot of talent though, and like Januzaj he can play on either flank and behind the striker. I think he'll need another loan next season, maybe even in the Championship again.

Depending on the signings we make, Powell should go on loan in the Premier League at least until Christmas. He's done well in the Championship, and has grown physically, so I think it's time for him to step up at a Premier League club. Zaha is another one who probably needs to go down the same route - loan at a Premier League club until Christmas.

Ben Thornley was shit in the first team, although im sure he played less than 10 games. he could actually beat players with the ball though, S2C him playing for Switchers team too

as said players develop at different rates, what has surprised me though is the amount of bulk Januzaj has put on since the start of the season. He's on the silv diet much earlier than CR7 was

high hopes for Januzaj.

Sad to see John Curtis not getting a mention. He was worth 10 million on a computer game in 1999.
