After watching the 90minute shift Fletcher has just put in I'm not too pleased at the prospect of 6 more weeks of him (or O'Shea) alongside Scholes. Woeful.

Don't even mention the Reading game when Scholes is suspended.

Carrick is much more effective than Alonso, just look at all the room and time Scholes is getting and how much better he's been playing since Carrick's arrival. Carrick is also very strong defensively, he times his defensive runs and tackles so well.

As for Gerrard, he's the most overhyped English player of the century. Sure he bangs in some crackers from time to time, but his positioning is poor and his decisionmaking can sometimes be shocking. He doesn't have the calm of say, Scholes, nor the technique.

Are you seriously expecting me to believe that you'd be furious if we swapped Carrick for Gerrard in January?*
