Default £#%&! knows where you go after that

Back to basics would be a start. They could have scored 4 or 5.

I'm not really one for over the top reactions, but we're only missing Rio and Berba out of the regulars this season and yet our midfield looks about as frail as my gran on a surfboard.

Send them all home, put the youth team and reserves in, and tell the 1st team squad to come back in July.

They need a good, long rest.

I was thinking that it finally looks like those games in Japan are catching up.

I think we should go at them away like they went at us.

Anyone really fancy us to go away and beat Sunderland on Saturday?

I did on Sunday night.

How can we be so 'up' after a result and it not translate on the pitch? We were awful tonight.

Maybe Berbs is more important than we thought - we seemed to be playing well with him starting

For the first 30mins of the first half didn't think we got going. From an attacking pov thought it was much better second half.

Defence was still shit though.

Nothing to do with Berbs imo. They were flat. 50 hours since the last game.

fatigue. problem with a game going right to the wire like the villa one did is that the players are out on their feet afterwards. the £#%&!ing scheduling didn't help either.

As far as those who played Sunday go, adrenaline can only last so long.

As for Scholes and Park, I'd like to hear what their excuse is.

To be fair to us, we're so decimated at the minute it's untrue.

I agree essentially, though I do think Berbatov playing in behind Rooney provides a better pattern to our game in general. As you said though, the issue today was a general fatigue compounded by injuries.

No, what we missed at times was another option up front - one who could hold the ball up.

You mean a bit of composure in behind that might allow Rooney to feed of some great passes rather than scraps? Nah, I'm not getting dragged back in Whalers.

I actually prefer this roller coaster to a succession of 1-0 grinds.Admittedly it's been a grounding few weeks and the midfield boys seem to have lost a bit of strut and bite .However it's hardly the end of world or season.Sunday's game was more of a relief than a confidence booster and a clean sheet and a couple of of goals at Sunderland would gee them up no end.

After that a four day break until the return with Porto,

Then we find out if they have that something special to be a truly great team
