This. The amount of times Sir Mother£#%&!a shut up shop for a 0-0 away in europe are manifold. Or nick an early goal and haul everybody and invite pressure. According to every media source and social media goon, it never happened though.
Then there's Ian Wright saying he would be "disgusted" if he was a United fan. Well you're not Ian, you £#%&!ing gobshite, you're an Arsenal fan and they're playing some jumped up 4th divisioners from Sweden.
And there's even an "I preferred it under van gaal brigade"; he never even managed to reach a knock out tie in this competition for us. Talk about £#%&!ing revisionist. £#%&! me.

That would be a valid point if this side was playing like a Fergie team the rest of the time, and these vile spineless performances were very rare exceptions.

They aren’t, they’re very much the rule.

This - players and manager. Jose should have been first choice when Fergie left. Organized if nothing else and gone by now. Back sliding since Goggle Eyes and Mashed Nose.

Fergie's teams of which Era? When he'd been at the club for 2 years? 5 years? Or the ones where he'd had a decade to mould the side, and the club, to exactly what he wanted?
And if you get your way, which I assume means a new manager, how long will he get to start tearing teams apart every week while winning trophies too?

It doesn't take 5 years to get a side to play some half decent football away from home in Europe

It might not take 5 years but it definitely takes more than 18 months. Especially when the club he inherited was in such a state....

This is the issue, could live with 0-0's at Anfield, Etihad, Europe etc in isolation but that first half at Huddersfield was genuinely horrific on the back of a complete no show at Newcastle which was preceded by being embarrassed by Spurs. Struggling to remember our last decent performance which with the players we have is a failure.

fergie revisionism or no, jose took over a team that wasn't getting relegated and he's spent a shitload. but the question is (even wrighty gets it) - is he doing as well as can be expected with the players he has available? the answer is no. it's not a debate. we look shit. doesn't matter what city are doing. doesn't matter if 0-0 away in europe is a credible result. we look shit.

Funny how some mongs are using Fergie's dull 0-0s CL Aways as some kind of justification or excuse for that pile of shit served up by United last night.

That point would be valid if it were just a one-off for tactical reasons. The reality is that the performance we saw yesterday is pretty much standard against almost all opposition, even the shitc*** teams. Like Bristol City.

Once again, when heads are too far down in the sand or you have the Top Red mental illness then you won't have the capacity to realize this.

This.

People on here with the attitude of “get em back to Old Trafford” still operate with the mindset that we will turn it on in front of our own fans and do the business.

That was the Ferguson way. This lot will turn out the same old shit when we get back to our place. We’ll have a bit more possession, a few more shots maybe, I even still expect us to go through. But it will be unconvincing, unadventurous and our players will be dropping %@#$&!s and dropping their bags all over the place.

At Everton on NYD? Another false dawn, there's been a few of them now.
