Rios been dropped rather than rested id suggest. Shocking on Tuesday and at fault for stokes goal IMO as he bottled it against crouch.

Disagree with that. Crouch wasn't his man; it was Jones who £#%&!ed up.

Rio was never going to make up that ground to challenge the lanky piss-streak.

He was shit in mid-week though. Never thought I'd see the day when Rio was being dropped in favour of Jonny Evans, but in fairness Evans has done well this season IMO.

If we're basing it on poor form, then I'd be bringing Evans in a left back for Evra. At least Rio has the excuse of lacking match practice, which I think explains his form.

Agreed. If Fabio wasn't so bad in mid-week then I wouldn't have minded seeing him come in at left-back for Evra tbh.

I reckon Fergie is just playing Evra for the experience factor. He's been the only real senior player in our back five over the past few weeks and that must have forced Fergie's hand.

If Rio and Vidic had been fully fit over the last few weeks Evra would have been dropped IMO. He's cost us goals with his individual sloppiness.

It hasn't mattered though, has it? He's been making mistakes a kid would make.

Yeah, deffo. He's been our worst player this season by a long way.

His attacking play and delivery in the final third has been shit for a long time, but this season he's shown several defensive lapses and an almost nonchalant disregard for concentration. Fergie has been picking him this season solely on the fact that he's the only experienced defender we've had fit.

Its a shame Fabio gets injured constantly as we really need a proper left-back to put pressure on Evra and perhaps even keep him out of the team. Its the only position in the squad where there isn't fierce competition for places.

Ireland actually. But nah, funnily enough they just cut off soon as the match started... typical.

I appreciate crouch wasn't rios man but if you watch it again rio is literally cowering like a girl behind the lanky one when he heads it.

Poor for a centre half of any level

He was played centrally against Basel though. He has never been good there as he has a poor first touch and will easily get caught in possession.

He's much better off the left flank, like where he's playing today.
