A simple easy one but it's obvious. He hasn't won the UEFA Cup.

Calling him by his first name is symptomatic of the kind of 'chummy' affectionate tone with which Liverpool players are referred to in the media, which coincidentally, is infested with ex liverpool players. It's the same thing that saw "stevie g" creep into the pundit vernacular.

Nobody ever called david beckham "becks" whilst on tv, i don't recall martin tyler or anyone calling Wayne Rooney "wazza" on comms.
