As I say, at that point I was dashing outta the ground to the boozer, had a right throat on me I remember. Do seem to remember him warming up alone, looking all sullen. even in that picture he's got a really long face.

Possibly but he's hardly gonna be jumping up and down at being on the bench is he.

That's just his character. He's a striker, so by definition he is very single minded and stubborn.
