I get it; we need Maguire as we're not going to sign 2 centre backs. If we strip him of the captaincy then he's pretty much finished here.

I have absolutely no issue with Maguire staying on as captain.
He had an appalling season last, but so did 95% of the others. He was fine before - he's an easy scapegoat because of his comedy head. Get the defence coached properly and we're a different team. On the flip side, if he starts the new season as poor as the last, Ten Hag wouldn't hesitate to strip him of the captaincy and I think Maguire knows this. Big season for him |
