I like Baines. He's much better than most people on here think. We're very arrogant and dismissive on here at times.

However....

Shaw would be a better signing based on his age and considering Evra.

Ive never seen him play

Someone else noticed Coleman to Of course we wouldn`t be chasing left backs if we hadn`t £#%&!ed up with Fryers! He will be a quality player to IMO

Funny how Luke Shaw got his place after we snatched Butner off them

He's good, and can only get better. Just needs to work on his temperament.

By all accounts Moyes is reluctant to go over £12m for Baines. They've already rejected that twice so move on to someone else if you really need a left back. Shaw looks to be at least worth trying for. No doubt they'll want £15m or more as soon as United go in for him though.

Watched Shaw at the weekend and he looks superb, would be a much better signing than Baines.

Sign him up and let him stay at Southampton this season

I doubt Soton would sell tbh. Bit of a project going on there, just got him signed to a new 5 year deal, they don't need the money, the lad is happy and they'd much rather keep him and increase his value over the next few seasons I expect.

Buy him, loan him back for the season. Replace a 33 year old Evra next year.

Ideally, why would Southampton agree to that though? A good season and he'll be worth double next summer.

Because he could go for that now , they get the cash and the plAyer for the year without having to replace.

Again, they appear to be quite alright for money. They don't need £15m really.

At his age, we could easily loan him out for a couple of years. No rush.

Just get it done now ffs. He's one of the most obviously talented players I've seen. I'd never heard of him until watching Pochettino's first game in charge of Southampton and I was looking him up after about ten minutes. Couldn't believe he was just 17
