They are actually. Uhlsport did a very limited edition run of an exact replica. Because I convinced them to.

Definitely. Also, as this is a football related thread, he's unlikely to see it either. Good work Grimson

Also in keeping with the theme, newsie's new avvie: nice, but I liked it better when we were a Football Club.

How much feel do you get from modern goalie gloves? I've never tried any on but they always look to spongy for purpose.
Are you sure you wouldn't be better off wearing a pair of sondico jobs with some table tennis bat rubber glued to the palms?

The palms are definitely a bit thicker today, but I prefer that. You still get pretty good feel. What they've got to develop now is a glove that repels the rubber dust from 3G pitches.

had a few kick abouts with some mates during the summer & one of them had some of these new fangled 'keeper gloves. They had serious protection around the fingers, you physically couldn't bend your hand to make a fist (reminsiss about the Superhans quote from Peep Show) but when you got a particularly hard shot straight at you they gave blinding protection.

In short, excellent for 'keeping, less good for physical violence imo.
