Football FC United FA Cup thread

Should be a good one this, as Barrow are bringing about 1,000 fans which will be by far the biggest away following to come to FC and should make for a fantastic atmosphere.

We're definitely in the draw for the next round as it takes place live on telly before this match. With 14 goals scored in the last three games we're on a great run, and whilst Barrow are a very tough prospect, you never know. That's the magic of the FA Cup, Gary.

Win it and we'll be in the hat with some league clubs.

The Stoke v Utd match will be on in all the local pubs beforehand.

I anticipate a nice draw like Notts County or Sheffield Wednesday away in the 1st round, and then lose to Barrow in the last minute. It feels like one of those weeks

Zorg, anyone - In the unlikely event of promotion each season, how long before FC get into a national league?

in the 7th tier at the moment
so 2013/2014 they'd be in league 2 with consecutive promotions

Barrow lost (again) last weekend, leaving them in the bottom three. FC might be playing them at a very good time

We're in the northern premier at the minute.
Above that is Conference north then the conference then league 2.

That's a week on Saturday at home to Colwyn Bay.

Before then need everyone not going to Stoke and who doesn't mind missing the last few minutes on TV to ram Gigg Lane to the rafters on Sunday at 3.00and make sure the Barrow fans are drowned out.

Has all the makings of a cracking atmosphere. Main Stand may even sing a jolly song or two.

Given ITV's paucity of live football im surprised they aren't televising this today. They'd do good figures for this sort of tie.
