Football Under 18s free entry at FC Utd on Monday

Easter Monday, 25th April sees our final league game against Kendal Town (kick off 3pm at Gigg Lane) in what everyone will agree has been an epic season irrespective of what happens in our fight to win promotion.

After being second from bottom on New Years Day, we've only lost 1 game in 18, are now in 2nd place and look good to make the play-offs (fingers crossed).

The Club has therefore decided to make the fixture a Kids Go Free day to create an atmosphere of celebration as in previous end of season fixtures.

Default Matlock away today

I get wound up enough before matches normally without seeing Deegan come out to warm up in the no.1 shirt.

Still, the lad did well and thanks to Scotty McM@&%! having the league's best striker so deep in his pocket he was no problem at all, we ran out 1-2 winners on a pitch which on the day was worse than that at Skelmersdale (think basketball!)

Wolfie was first to react to a Cotterill shot which was saved but bounced off the keeper and for the second, Jerome was quickest to a spilled pass by a Matlock defender.

We're guaranteed a playoff place, but with Colwyn Bay and Bradford also home and hosed and Ferriby and Buxton punching it out for fifth place, our venue and opponents on Thursday night are very much dependent on our performance against Kendal at home on Monday.

If we don't get all three on Monday, how Colwyn do at home to Nantwich and how Bratfud perform away at Mickleoever may determine what we're doing on Thursday night, and where.

Opener and finisher wasn't it?

Good day out yesterday.

Got a bad feeling about Bradford in the play offs.

He can tell you when he's around. IIRC he has both a goal and a sending-off on his FC record.

I hadn't.

What's the implications? Same as us for any potential final?

It looks like it. They will be away for the semi, even if they finish second or third.
