I might be more willing to see some validity in jem's take if previous managers hadn't also had problems with him.

Previous manager didn't have problems with him. He turned up out of shape before being under previous manager's influence, he got him on the pitch and playing pretty well, and not even saffers would blame previous manager for what went wrong there

Both Poch and LvG raised concerns about his conditioning. Difference is that both showed complete faith in him, rather than ostracising him regularly for 18 months.

Great management ffs But of course...

Just different innit.

With martial, Shaw, Mickey Jose has been very much 'sink or swim'. Some will respond, some won't. Looks like 2 out of 3 there.

Not sure I’d liken Shaw’s treatment to either tbf. His exclusion has been just bizarre imo.

Mkhitaryan has been a strange one. Pretty much obvious there was a problem from the start when he was left out for the first few months. Again, for all the backing this approach gets when said player plays a couple of good games, I always felt it wasn’t going to work with a confidence player like Mkhi.

He did. There’s a link a few posts up mate. Read stuff properly before commenting in future imo

I didn’t actually realise all LvG said was he wasn’t fit enough after a month off in the summer. Thought it was something a bit stronger tbh.

16 league appearances in 14/15. What a show of faith from LVG

Different issues, but same approach: you'll get chances, but you better take them.

Shaw's issues (in relation to Jose) seemed to be instructional (comments about him making all the decisions on the touchline etc)

Micky more just disappearing in games.

It's an approach that puts the responsibility on the player. It won't work with everyone, but i suppose it's how he finds the players he trusts.

There was a feeling wjen he arrived that Jose likes specialist players in each area. I don't think that's unfolded that way. He seems to go with players he trusts over time. Mickey was a specialist that didn't fit. Ashley Young is a odd job man he trusts.

For those of you still reading, I think I've forgotten my point.

It was basically along the lines of “everything Mou does is brilliant” mate.

Bit odd to be that devoted to a manager imo.

it's a bit of a cop out for managers to say they want players to make decisions. obvs, players make decisions every second, but the manager has to give it structure. don't tell me all king louis's men just started to make decisions to keep possession in our own half. shaw is clearly a very talented player (if positionally suspect) and it has taken far too long for mourinho to be using him. for a couple of games. you can't credit a manager for finally getting it.

next you'll be saying he's a genius if he plays a 3-man midfield.

Not when it’s Mourinho tbf. Can’t see him staying for too long though. Won’t be long before a bigger club tempts him away

Why don't you run a poll and find out, you fatheaded, delusional @#%&!.

The results might help reduce the swelling of your horrifically inflated noggin.

I wouldn't even say It's that deep. Just a simple observation of man management.

Tough love v arm round the shoulder

Both have their benefits. Not saying either is right.

If you had any track record of being right about things, I’d be excited by that post.
