Default Redemption in football

Favourite moments of soccer redemption. Inspired by Robben scoring the winner in this years final after £#%&!ing it last year.

To start- Beckham's role in the treble winning season after France 98. And also Andy Cole getting the winner in this same game after being blamed for 95.

was it Tim Sherwood who was bitching about Scholes tackle in the run up to Beckham's equaliser?

Eric Cantona 95-96. Nothing comes close. Won us a double and got booked just once in the whole season.

His free-kick to you know, get England into the World Cup. Probably the national teams finest moment of the last 50 years.

Thumbs up

Fat Ronaldo scoring twice in the WC Final in 2002 following his personal nightmare/no show in 1998

Cantona's as a whole probably wins out, scored so many crucial goals that season (Newcastle, Spurs, QPR etc).

Ruud's was good but I think that was more of a personal one, felt delighted at the time though. Shame we never built on that win.

Exactly

Think we drew 0-0 with City after that too.

I was.

Biggest achievement in the last 50 years, a shitty draw against a mediocre Greece team, AT HOME.

Beckham.

"Beckham's back" after he bent a free kick in against Leicester at home at the start of the treble season pretty sure we came from 0-2 down with 2 late goals?
