Gordon Hill was my favourite player back then and vivdly remember his Norman Wisdom impression in the pre match build up.

Cup final coverage was brilliant back then, started about 10 in the morning with coverage of the players having their breakfast

Can tell you who scored in 77 and 79, 83 and 85 and 90, but can barely remember winning it last season

The build ups were so good then. The final was massive and the whole country got stuck in to watch it.

Can't remember much about the tv coverage during the week before but I do remember it used to start on the Saturday on both BBC 1 and ITV around 11am (after Noel Edmonds' Multi Coloured Swap Shop and Tiswas? ).
Can't remember if we won the "It's a Knockout".
Had to keep getting up to turn the tv over to switch channels to see who was covering what. Thank £#%&! for remotes.

My Dad and his sister (the famed Aunt Dot) and my grandparents went, Aunt Dot is still a season ticket holder in her 80s too.
