Lot of interest here, I see

Actually, these "meaningless" games have often been quite good to watch. With two teams who play the right way, fingers crossed

Need to clazw back some losses but havent got a clue whether Germany will be up for this or not

This should have been the Final tbf. Two positive, unfancied teams who have been involved in all the best games of the Tournament.

I fell asleep during all of Spain's knock-out games & Holland are the scabbiset @#%&!s in the World to get to the Final (yes, I know they've won all their games - but £#%&!ing hell they've got an ordinary side on paper)

The 3rd Place Play Off is the most ridiculous game in the World

The very first WC third place game back in 1930, was supposed to be played by the USA (!) and Yugoslavia. However the Yugoslavs didn't know they had another game after losing the SF, and got a boat back home

Instead a game was hastily arranged between the Yanks and a "Uruguayan select XI" or similar. They won and got their bronze medals - what would have happened in the event of the game going the other way is not recorded

Of course the European Championships did away with this some time back. IIRC the last was in 1968, which England lost

(bizarrely, the FA Cup had a 3rd place game for a few years - in 1970, we beat Watford)

fancy a few goals and an entertaining match. undoubtedly gonna be a better game to watch than the final imo.

I think alot of people are going to have egg on their faces after the final tomorrow. Some great players on show and if Holland get the first goal then we could be in for a humdinger.
