Fletcher, Anderson & Hargreaves are the answers in that scenario, with 2 of those out - I have no idea why Anderson was overlooked... I think Fergie might have had Rome in mind when not trusting Ando but that was his £#%&!ing fault as well.
i think fergie might have had liverpool last year in mind, where anderson was poor iirc. also anderson had played a lot in the last couple of weeks.

agree on the rest but i think scholes was the only one doing his job on sunday in that front 6 on sunday (valencia & berbatov were adequate, no more). scholes is still class but he must have somebody with high energy levels beside him - fletcher is the standout.

tbh i think anderson has done very well this season so far, which is great to see. i'd love to see him and fletcher given a real chance to form a partnership, i think it's got all the ingredients and they're our form two. sure, a youngish partnership like that will make some mistakes but i think it's worth it. i feel the same about rafael/fabio at rb and evans at centre half.

never going to happen. in any front three like that you need more width and rooney would spend most of his time drifting wide. he doesn't have the discipline or he's too intelligent a footballer, as you prefer.
