Decent footballer but not good enough for United.

I lost count of the number of times he either gave away possession outright, dropped his pass short or made the receiver check back.

Opta will show pass completion stats, but they can't show the quality. Carrick generally gives balls that perpetuate movement and assist the guy getting it to retain possession. Cleverley's inaccuracy too often puts the player on the receiving end in trouble or kills the momentum stone dead. Cabaye is the player we need.
