The only overhaul we should be having this summer is in the £#%&!ing management department. 99.9% of managers would kill for the squad we've got.

Get this shithouse Portuguese @#%&! out of the club before he spreads even more of his cowardly negativity through the halls of Old Trafford.

The attacking play is the issue.
...& the manager.
Our attacking play is greatly hampered by the shithouses we have at the back
Matic yesterday had to literally take the ball off Smalling or Lindelof’s toes as they were too scared to play out from the back
Once Swansea started to press us in the 2nd half we lost rhythm in our play as our defenders can’t play out of an opposition press

We need 11 players who are comfortable on the ball if we are going to get back to the elite of European football

Really don't get it.

Our defence isn't the problem.

It is.

Go back and look at the home tie against Sevilla.

You can’t commit players forward in this side because once you leave those at the back exposed they make fundamental errors.

This...

Plus the full backs offer very little going forward, we need players that are able to add to the attack in those positions

Add an experienced centre half and sign a full back or two + another midfielder and our squad will look much better.

Still think we need a senior defender to calm things down in bigger games. Godin would be the dream. Chiellini. That sort of player.

We've bought old midfielders and strikers but refuse to address the area where experience is most needed.
Good, really he is like an upgraded version of Rojo, with a few of the same issues, can be a little rash with his tackling and even though he is good on the ball he occasionally does some very odd things. He might be a little short for the PL at CB, especially alongside Bailly who can struggle in the air. Not a pairing to sit deep and defend the box, much more suited to winning the ball high. Mou would have to be more aggressive in his tactics to get the best out of that pair.

Godin I think commits you to playing in a certain way, he is best suited to defending deep and countering, don't want him covering space behind, not the most mobile at this stage.

Yes, we need some better defenders. That doesn't mean other areas don't need addressing also.

right back: henrichs
left back: sandro
centre back: umtiti, alderweireld, manolas or de ligt
centre mid: fabinho, rabiot, nainggolan, pellegrini or van de beek

we should have a transfer ban imposed on us for forwards. we don't need any more vanity signings. just stick to the areas that actually need addressing. we don't actually have that bad of a set of forwards now, leave them be.

so we had 4 shots at goal over 180 minutes of Football against Sevilla because our defence isn't quite good enough? (even though it's 4 International defenders playing in front of a world class goalkeeper - who have the 2nd best defensive record in the League)

nothing to do with the tactics, nothing to do with stifling the youth & pace of Rashford & Martial, nothing to do with Pogba sulking like a b***h or the manager being a negative shitehawk then?

It's ALL down to Young, Smalling, Jones & Valencia (who between them have more title winning medals than the rest of the squad put together)

Exactly this

We've got some top attacking talent

Dubious statement that

Not saying the tactics were brilliant, but that's not quite right really

because he'd neglected the midfield for 5 years.

They were hardly instrumental in those title wins. They’re all at least one level below what 1st choice united defenders should be.

Don’t think anyone thinks it’s all down to them, but it’s a major cause of a lot of issues within the team. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be the reason for hampering our attacking game. Some of the best managers have always stated the foundation for attacking is defence, from clough to Ferguson. And if it turns out to be an excuse and we still play negative football in the biggest games after sorting it, there’s no more excuses left.

our poor, attack minded coach & fluid, ruthless forward line would have netted a bagful if it hadn't been for those bloody defenders
