Was absolutely magnificent against Genoa yesterday. Showed fantastic technique, intelligence and tremendous spirit. Really a complete midfield performance. He was pinging passes about the pitch over all distances and angles, playing with one touch, firing off shots from outside the box, prompting his team-mates, filling in for defenders, doubling up with the fullbacks, tackling ferociously...

Great goal from Vucinic as well. 3-2 to Roma in the end. Excellent match.

most complete?

i wouldnt say that. he is better when it comes to defending than going forward. yes he isnt far from being a real complete midfielder. but he is more of a defensive midfielder, and a good one. but at times he lacks it when going forward. he doesnt have that 'touch' that the attacking players usually have. but he has still 1-2 years left till he reaches his peak so you never know, he could become better than this

He's not as good as Carrick.

That was one of the worst i have ever seen. I missed one like that many years ago, however the night before i had been £#%&!ed on LSD til the early hours so it was somewhat explainable, however for a pro that trains daily and lives and breaths the game that kick was simply disgraceful.

Default Worst pen since Jaap...

...in the Euros (or was it the WC?)...you know the one, the one orbiting Saturn as we speak.

It was so bad, that there may be something in the theory that he missed on purpose!

rofl

That still cracks me up... & he was immense last night, £#%&!er was everywhere - not seen such consistently good delivery from wide like that since senor Beckham was in the shirt.

Also thought De Rossi still had a decent game, positionally & technically you can tell he's very, very good. £#%&! knows how they thought it was a good idea not to track our midfield runners though, should have been game over before halftime. Still, excellent stuff all round last night, shame the officials were bent as £#%&!. @#%&!s.
