Default united greatest ever players according to the opus

a few questions...
why is rooney so high up at no.11?
and following on from that why is ronaldo at number 39 if rooney is in at no.11?
why is ruud above mark hughes and ole?
why is roy keane ahead of bryan robson etc?

a joke imo.

Appeals to the modern younger market. Admittedly not many could afford 3k on a book!

Correct Armchair.

For example if my old man was still alive he wouldn't be too chuffed to see some of his favourites so low. But then it's all subjective. Will stimulate debate of course although I'm off to make a coffee.....

out of all the names on the list id say rooney at no.11 is the most baffling...

pure what do you think of no.48?

I'd say it's based on market research more than reality i.e. they find out what kind of fools are likely to buy it, what players they like and then edit the list accordingly.

The Rooney>Ronaldo thing in England is crazy at the moment. Feel more sorry for Rooney tbh as it's the tall poppy syndrome about to kick it.

It's just the nature of how those list things work though isn't it.
If it had been done 10-15 years ago I bet Kanchelskis would have been in the top20 (& deservedly so at the time)

Of course as things currently stand Rooney isn't the 'Eleventh' greatest player to ever play for United, but give it 5-10 years & he'll comfortably get into the top10.
I'm certain of that.

I'd have put Hughesie & Ole ahead of Ruud based purely on their status amongst the fans. But Ruud is our highest scorer ever in European competition so I guess he deserves to be fairly high up.

£#%&!ing stupid price for a book though. Who would pay £3000 for it???

Re Roy at number 3 ahead of some other greats. I suspect if you asked him he'd be quite embarassed about that. Could be wrong but there you go.
