Default Diouf granted work permit.

Quote:
Exciting young striker Mame Biram Diouf will be available for selection in January after being granted a work permit.

The 22-year-old has impressed in training recently since signing in the summer from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s former club Molde, for whom he has been playing on loan.

Diouf, who has made one appearance for the senior Senegal national side, is a powerful, direct frontman.

Given Sir Alex’s glowing appraisal, he may get a chance in the first team sooner rather than later, although he won’t be available for the FA Cup tie against Leeds on 3 January.

Sir Alex said earlier this month: “If you’re talking about value then you can look at our young boy Diouf.

"He’s been training with us and is looking very exciting. That’s the kind of situation we’re good at – finding young players who can develop at the club and at 21 years of age he’s looking very good.”

Well, I'll be damned. I didn't think there was any chance of him getting one.

If the whole Manucho saga taught us anything it is not to write Diouf off early doors.

Ole was in Norway for his last game and was a studio guest, he said he's very similar to Saha in playing style, Saha only cost 2 million when he went to Fulham didn't he? so you never know he might turn out to be a great signing.

What sort of post is that? You're gonna be way behind the pack writing him off at this rate.

I think it says diouf has actually played for his national team, whereas ljajic hasn't.

I take it the main reason he is being written off is that he is coming from the Norwegian League? The same League that Mikel came from and he's done alright. So did Ole, and countless others.

Let's at least give the lad a chance.

He'll be shit but we will be able to sell him for about a £6mil profit to Stoke after he scores a couple of goals in next seasons carling cup. We will put that together with the £11mil we get off Everton for Gibson and buy Defoe from Spurs as replacement for Rooney who's gone to Barca with his fee going to pay the interest payments.
