tbh without any kind of connection to a particular place, saying you support some team on the continent is no different at all to saying you hate them

there was some @#%&! on the times site the other day, going on about spurs and how they were "destined to fail, just like all my previous clubs". jesus wept.

ive heard that form a few "old" boys.....usually in their mid 60s and older ...as kids they used to do that.....i think it was a Manchester thing.....whereby you supported your own town against any "outsiders"...and also a north/south devide thing as well...


i can understand it to a degree...but i cant agree with it fully.

I always look out for Wrexhams result.


But to actually 'follow' or support another team, is mental.

I don't mind too much if it's a local non league or lower league team that they support e.g Stockport, Alty etc. Or they have a valid reason for supporting them like their relative plays for them...

Maybe I'm just a tolerant, understanding person.

I've got a mate who supports Arsenal, Ipswich and Bristol City. Tbh i couldn;t really give a £#%&! about it.

My best mates little brother played for Aberdeen yesterday against Rangers in the SPL. He's 18.

bother in law is a carlisle supporter ive been to see them play a few times rochdale/ bury /stockport (its a good excuse for us to meet up) i look out for thier results but thats as close i i come to having a second team.
its hardly supporting them.
cant see any harm in watching another game of football if united arnt playing
unless its watching them @#%&!s from wastelands and anfailed

And when I was a youngster, I watched Stoke for a couple of seasons and Wrexhams (including the Wrexham-Arsenal Cup game) games too.

Only went 'cos I was a young lad and my uncle was playing for the £#%&!ers.

I couldn't get to United every week, or sometimes for a few weeks, so I went there.It was football, free and funny too.


Especially the Alan Ball/relegation season
