TBF Everton had battered us too that day. I ended up with a broken nose twenty yards down from where I started near the top of the Stretford Paddock.

Can still see Frank limping towards that volley after Lou's knock down.

Was there against Barca too and it was everything everyone says it was. Only thing that tarnished it a bit was the fear Robbo was making a point cause either BFR was trying to flog him to Juve or refused him permission to speak to them, Distinctly remember the highlights were Robbo seemed to £#%&! BFR off when he stuck his hand out whilst being interviewed in the old tunnel area.........anyone remember?

Yes, that was at the height of the 'Robson to Juve' rumours.

I remember we smashed Arsenal 4-0 the following Saturday and their was that big petition going on outside the ground.

Mine too. What a shame he didn't get to play in some of our better teams of the past 20 years. He'd have been first pick and best player on any of them imo.

The amount of older heads I hear say Robbo is their favourite ever United player and one of the best players etc must mean he was absolutely class.

My old man won't even discuss Keane or Robson in a debate.

Well let's put it this way. I've watched all of the world's greatest players over the past 35 years, and if I had to make a team of them, the only one I would pick ahead of a fit Robbo in his prime is Maradona.

We have been called a one man team many times during that period, but the only time I've ever really known it to be true were certain seasons between '81 and '90. England too, back when we cared.

Robbo could do it all pal.
Headers, curlers, 25 yarders, tackle, leader. The lot.

Why there is no banner at OT I'll never know.

He was my hero, growing up. In fact, he was like all the action heroes rolled into one, for me, but wearing the Utd kit (no batman/superman/power rangers for me, only Captain Marvel). If I couldn't watch him, I'd be listening to the radio. Every single match.

Had the pleasure to meet him after a couple of pints last summer and got my all time favourite photo with him in it. What a gent.
