Default Mourinho Press Conference - Valencia

Started 10 minutes ago.

Journo's are telling him that stats show our players are lazy. His response:

"After 20 years of football I am still the kid I was 20 years ago, and I am still naïve,"

"But I still don’t believe a player is not honest. Ask people with great reputations in the game if they ever went to a game not to try to give their best. "

"If somebody tells me 'I was a player and on one occasion I didn’t give my best', then I’ll change my opinion. Until somebody with a big reputation tell me 'I was a dishonest player', I will always believe the players are honest."

"The stats are the stats. One thing are the stats and another thing is the man himself,"

Asked whether he'd spoken to Woodward after the West Ham defeat:

"That’s a private matter. I’m not going to answer to you"

Injuries:

“Apart from Marcos Rojo, now we have Ander Herrera, Ashley Young and Jesse Lingard out"

“I prefer the doctor to speak, but they are not in [the right] conditions.”

On the match:

"It's a big week. Everyone wants to play in the Champions League, so we are here and we have the chance to play a big match."

Asked about the Zidane phone call:

"Ask the guy behind you, he wrote the story"

Asked about his body language:

“You can be laughing non the outside and be the saddest person in the world or look really sad and be a great actor and be happy on the inside.”

Apparently the Spanish press have been very critical of him this week. When asked about it:

“I can say that the big successes of Atletico last year was my success the year before. [Winning the Europa League]

On improving:

"It's the responsibility of everybody. The performance is the consequence of many factors. Luke Shaw said the players have to give more, and I like that perspective but I don't agree totally. Everybody in the club - the kit man, the nutritionist - has a role to play"

we will beat Valencia who have had a poor start, beat Newcastle on Saturday and it will all be forgotten about until City thrash us.

It's the kitman I fear for. Results on the pitch have declined rapidly since Albert left and the new guy took over. It's only a matter of time before Jose connects the dots.
