‘There was a lot of trepidation, a lot of apprehension when I went to United. I remember Martin Edwards [the former chairman] telling me there were seven players injured. I sat on the plane from Aberdeen to Manchester thinking, what kind of team do I have? Your head is full of doubts. Then Martin gave me a list of the players that were there. I thought, we haven’t got anyone to play in midfield. Nightmare.
Circle of life.

Interesting quote:

’m a spectator with responsibility. I’m a director and I want to make a contribution as a director that will play a part. We’ve got a young chief executive now [Ed Woodward] who will need help, I think. And David Gill [his predecessor] is still there to help him. We’ve got a young manager and I’m there to help him. We’ve had a lot of dialogue, David [Moyes] and I, over the last few weeks, and he’s been very, very good. He’s been very open about what his plans have been. Any help he’s needed or wanted, he’s got it there.

Yup - you could argue for a minor change here and there but that's pretty much it.

What a team of winners with character - incredible.

Vidic should be over Stam and it's insulting having Evra over Irwin ffs.

Vidic more of an organiser. Probably a better combination would be Vidic and Stam/Ferdinand.

Evra deserves his place. Wasn't a better left-back in the world during his prime.

Irwin should be in the team, comfortably.

He should be in your team, yes. Others will prefer Evra. And with good reason, as he established himself as arguably the best left-back in the world during his time here.

Just a fair word, tbf. As everyone will have their own opinion.

For me it's certain that there was no better left-back than Evra in the world between '07 and '10.
