I see this narrative that Liverpool are plucky little Paupers is still going strong

Carragher going down the ‘money doesn’t buy success’ route shortly after their £75m centre half scored the winner for them

They’ve dealt well with injuries, but that’s the only reason those kids are there. Given the choice, they’d have fielded a £150m forward line and their 3 midfielders that they bought this summer*

They might be a notch below us, city and Chelsea in terms of what they spend, but they’re hardly £#%&!ing poor. Klopp has 9 years of healthy spending under his belt to arrive at where they are. The only manager to spend more is Pep.

*Who came in after their British record bid for a midfielder was accepted, but they turned him down.

You know what they're like. They're not content with just winning a trophy, they have to be declared Moral Victors of the Universe too.
