Default Boom and bust at Glasgow Rangers

Don't particularly like Scottish football but if Rangers go surely that will be the end of Scottish Football.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...rs/8342795.stm

So once the big money men get fed up with the football clubs they own will there be a big scrap heap?

As that bloke in the orange high vis vest and poster on a stick use to say on Sir Matt Busby Way, "the end is near, we've had it, oh we've had it".

They've put the whole squad up for sale? Must be a good £100 worth in there.

The proud Glaswegians, deeply proud of the Scottish roots but would sell their soul for a few quid. If they go bust then hopefully it will end the debate about letting them play in England.

We're always hearing about independence, now's your chance. £#%&! off and play in Argentina. That's who you'll be supporting in the world cup.

I remember them paying £12m for Tore Andre Flo.

Celtic not exactly in rude health financially either. Makes you wonder how they, the two of them, can still dominate that league to such an extent

True, it can't last though surely? It's obvious they're over-reaching themselves.

If anyone set up a half decent youth development programme there they'd be well away up there. Such a desperation to get into the CL they end up paying for players such as the aforementioned Tore Andre Flo - £12m

Rangers wont go to the wall, but they might have to take a proper shafting. Diddums.

Every club in Scotland is broke. Aberdeen fired Jim Leighton as goalkeeper coach because they couldn't afford to pay him wages, or even travel expenses.

Considering McM@&%! and Magnier seem to have a stake in there - with Dermot Desmond - there should be plenty of cash sloshing around (given what they spent and profit made on United)...

Seems they don't want to put their own cash in these days though.

Watched the video.

Is the Scottish Minister Jim "Murphy" trying hard to stop breaking into a grin when he's meant to be all earnest?

Supposed to be a great prospect at Rangers, Wilson I think he's a centre half.

The one who was hyped up a couple of years ago was John Fleck.

Not seen anything of him though.

Both played tonight I gather.

Unlucky not to snatch a win tbh, great goal by the Romainians.

What a shame hope they go broke as soon as possible closely followed by their neighbours. End the stupid debate of playing in the PL once and for all.

I seem to remember Rangers use to buy up any young Scottish footballer who showed potential yet not play him. The mentality was if we have him he cant play against us.

The knock on effect if the Huns go will be massive. Celtic would probably fold and you would have effectively a semi pro set up.
