I'm sure there's quite a few on here who consider Evans to be a far superior player. Probably Smalling too.

Quieroz didn't rate him though did he?

He wanted to return to Barca, and told Fergie about their interest.

not surprising.

Hmmm. stay at united and be given a carling cup game or go to barca and be a first team regular?

also if you think johnny evans is anywhere near pique's level then you want your head £#%&!ing looking at.

Yes, because that's all he'd have got had he stayed.

we had a cracking centre half pairing tbf.

having said that, pique would have become (potentially) a signing of ole proportions

having said that, we've let pique (a quality centre half) go for peanuts and brought in someone who looks like rio ferdinand with gigantism from fulham for £10m, who was playing for £#%&!ing maidstone arms rovers a couple of years back.

now that's not just smart. that's value smart.

evans was superb during last year's defensive crisis. he was shaky during this year's, still got a great future imo.

smalling has impressed me, looks like a good buy.

not convinced by smalling, not that im saying he's shit either. first impressions make me think he's clumsy with the ball at his feet.

Agreed.

£#%&!ing catching though, isn't it?

Him, evra, rooney and park all patchy at best.

I'm just happy we're not losing.

Sparky imagine the worlds biggest team saying their big summer spend was 17 mill on two players who 2 years ago weren't even involved in professional football

from what i've seen i'd disagree, looks comfortable with the ball at his feet, his goal in the carling cup showed great agility for a centre half but there are bigger challenges for him ahead, hopefully he will turn out a good signing.

Tbf you're right he would have stayed if he was getting regular first-team action.
