The amount of money that is being thrown around this week just proves how rattled the top clubs are now.

But there are two clubs not involved in the panic, City and United - we know why they are invovled ;-) but the fact that City arent in the thick of things proves how the recent buying strategy has been spot on.

What PLatini makes of it all would be interesting.

Chelsea have apparently put bids out there totalling £80m

Liverpool have just spent £24m plus bids of another £10m+ out there.

But Spurs are the interesting ones.

£25m for Carroll
£38.5m for Aguero
£28m for Rossi

Now that really is panic bidding a la City on takeover day!

Spurs have already put the idea of building a new stadium at WHL on hold indefinitely as they cannot afford it, preferring to chance a bid for the 2012 White Elephant Arena, which tells me that long mid term they are not realistic contenders for CL.

Its a now or never strategy for them.

By god City are a well run club! And we wont go into free fall if we miss the top 4.
They never fail do they?

And then this, reasoned reply.

"Interesting how we get criticized for crazy spending during the summer, and now every club and their grandmother realized it's a tough scramble to stay up top and now they're panic buying at the worst time of the year to buy."

£#%&! me.

City aren't throwing money around in this window because they know they can not compete with Chelsea. They haven't signed a 'top star' yet. If they go in for Torres with Chelsea this window they'll end up embarassed.

Not really a laugh at City moment, but... Apparently Neil Young died today, sad really, 66 is no age, but the Bert sat next to me announced this news to me by saying...

Bert - 'You know how Nat Lofthouse died and Bolton fans were all mourning him? Well it's City's turn this weekend as Neil Young has died.'

Me - 'Who? Isn't he a singer songwriter '

Neil Young (scorer of goal in '69 cup final apparently) > Nat Lofthouse.

But you shouldn't be able to get away with doing that to a player either. RAWK would errupt if a United player had done that.

He forgot Arsenal.

So, everyone at the top of the league is panic buying - except for the two actually at the top of the league.

Worse than Scouser, they constantly accuse us of profiting from and difining ourselves on a tragedy whilst they are desperate for one themselves. Retiring a loan player's shirt ffs.

No one cares about you City, no one ever will.
